Summer Restaurant Weeks 2013 running till Sept 2
Hey, Did you dine out for resto weeks yet? You only have till Sept 2! If you did, please fill out this super short survey to let us know how right here - Summer Restaurant Weeks 2013:
Restaurant Weeks, hosted by Stamford Tables, is back for another year of summer eats. This summer, Stamford Hospital is returning as a sponsor with their Kids Fans’ 5-2-1-0 program as is the Avon Theatre Film Center. The first 3,000 Restaurant Weeks patrons will receive a voucher for a free medium popcorn at the Avon Theatre with the purchase of any movie ticket.
We are pleased to see 31 restaurants participating this time around. A few newcomers are sprinkled among the Restaurant Weeks veterans to give this edition a new flavor.
From August 19 through September 2, participating restaurants will be offering lunches for $10.13, $12.13, or $20,13 and dinners for $15.13, $20.13, or $30.13. The quality of this summer’s participating restaurants ensures each and every patron will have a marvelous experience.

New to this summer’s Restaurant Weeks is Stamford Table’s partnership with local farmers. Produce from Hubbard Heights Farm, Stamford Museum and Nature Center, Domus and the Green Up Group will be featured in some participant’s menus. Participating restaurants will be noted with a tomato next to their name on all Restaurant Weeks media.
Below you will find a list of menus from participating restaurants. We hope these will aid you in your decision to visit several downtown restaurants over the two week period. After your dining experience, feel free to leave comments regarding your experience through the link at the bottom of this page.

40th Anniversary Screening of American Graffiti at The Avon | Stamford Downtown - This is the place!
The Avon will be hosting a special 40th Anniversary Screening of American Graffiti this upcoming Wednesday evening, August 21. A reception kicks off the evening at 6 with a costume contest at 7 followed by the screening of the movie at 7:30. Tickets are $10 for Avon Members and $15 for Non-Members. Tickets may be purchased ahead of time at the box office or calling 203-661-0321.

- “Celebrity judges” will be on hand for the costume contest

My experience at Stamford Downtown has given me the opportunity to work on
notable projects that are displayed all around Stamford. Helping put together
Restaurant Weeks was a great experience. Putting together the concierge book
and making phone calls helped me with my communication skills. Being a part of
this family has enabled me to grow as an individual in the working world. Not
only was I able to work at Alive at 5 and Jazz up July, but I was lucky enough
to get to meet several artists that performed, making it feel as though I
wasn’t working at all. I am so thankful for having such great mentors that
guided me every step of the way. I couldn't have asked for a better internship
this summer.

Intern Update #6

As I am wrapping up my final week interning with the DSSD, I
find myself doing just that!
For one of Stamford Downtown’s events, Grand
Summer Night, all the people who come to the event are given `thank you’ gifts/favors, compliments of CONAIR Corp. All the favors need to be wrapped and allocated to each
participating restaurant prior to the event. Thankfully, I love gift wrapping
so this task is definitely not an unfavorable one.
I’ve also been helping
create a Board of Commissioners Handbook, along with organizing several things
within the DSSD office, such as the events posters. It is going to be very sad
to leave here at the end of this week, as I truly love this internship with all
of the experience and opportunity it has given me.
Throughout all of my weeks
interning, the staff has been nothing but welcoming and always eager to help me
learn new things. Thus, this is an internship that I would absolutely love to return
to if given the chance.
