Fay Curtin holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree from Manhattanville College. She has also studied at George Washington University in Washington, DC and the University of Connecticut. Her works have been shown at various locations in New Jersey, at Gallery 333 in North Falmouth, MA, the New Canaan Art Barn and the Mayor's Gallery in Stamford.
She was employed as an Assistant Instructor of Art at Manhattanville and has exhibited in the College's Gallery. She was represented by Gallery Three in Greenwich for a number of years and her paintings have been acquired by corporations, including the New York Telephone Company, McKinsey & Company and SSS Gears Ltd in London, England, as well as by private collectors.
Her marine paintings are influenced by observations of Long Island Sound over the years as a resident of Shippan Point, as well as time spent on Cape Cod and in Maine.
Though primarily a contemporary painter, this exhibit in the Mayor's Gallery at Stamford Government Center represents a return to realism stressing contours and utilizing primarily light and dark oils on canvas.
