Pansy Planting in Stamford Downtown

WHAT:
Pansies, pansies and more pansies
1,680 yellow and 432 blue pansies will appear in
Stamford Downtown
For the
last 20 years the Stamford Downtown Streetscape Volunteers, led by Streetscape
Coordinator Marion Glowka, have marked the onset of spring with the planting of
thousands of pansies in planters and gardens through out the downtown. This year is no exception. Once again as many as 16 volunteers,
affectionately nicknamed Garden Groomers, will take on the task. 2,100 plants will be dropped off on Broad
Street at 12:45 PM
and distributed to pairs of volunteers who will carry them to their assigned
location around the downtown. Watch for
them at Old Town Hall, Kiwanis Park, Spring Street, Broad Street and Atlantic
Street as well as many other downtown locations
