Avon Theatre’s 2012 Oscar® Nominated Film Festival and Volta

This past weekend,  I attended a portion of the Avon's Oscar®-Nominated Film Festival

Caught a showing of  The Fantastic Flying Books of Mr. Morris Lessmore (2011), a 15 minute animated short.    Certainly worth a watch.  I like watching the "shorts" since I have a short attention span most of the time. The "shorts" are a mix of nominated short  films, 7 -15 minute or so in length.   Hate to confess it, but I arrived late, and missed the first short.  All were quite entertaining, and rightfully nominated.  (all the shorts are online at You be the judge....
Afterwards,  went around the corner for a leisurely brunch at Volta.  Super crowded, and lucky to get a seat.  Open face egg and bacon sandwich, with a side of wild mushroom soup. Choco gelato to finish.  All good.  All worth the trip. It was a cold Saturday, and worth venturing out.

See others nominated selections at the Avon during their Oscar Nominated Film Festival.
