Heights & Lights returns to Stamford Downtown on Sunday, December 4, 2011 at 5:00 pm, when Santa

and his friends will once again make their grand rappell down the 22 stories of Stamford’s Landmark

Building. Rappelling Santa is presented this year by First Niagara and Reckson, A Division of SL Green

Realty Corp.  Enjoy a spectacular Fireworks Display  and watch the exciting descent of Guest Rappellers,

Brian Cashman, GM NY Yankees and Rick Reichmuth, Meteorologist, FOX News Channel.


After the rappel, Santa’s busy holiday schedule will take him straight up Bedford Street to Latham Park
where he will join the Stamford Community at First Niagara’s Holiday Tree Lighting Ceremony with the
Activities for Kids Chorus Directed by Jerry Pia.  The Holiday Tree was donated by Bartlett Tree
Company.

Stamford Downtown is pleased to welcome First Niagara Bank as first-time presenting sponsor of Height
& Lights.  First Niagara entered the Connecticut market in April of 2011, and has three branch offices in

UBS Parade Spectacular, Nov 20 , A Very Hungry Caterpillar Recipe


Here's a kid-friendly project.....

A Very Hungry Caterpillar Fruit Salad:

1 Apple
2 Pears
3 Plums
4 Strawberries
5 Oranges


Directions:
Wash your hands. Wash fruit. After a grown up cuts the fruit, put the pieces in a bowl. Mix. Eat and enjoy!

WHAT:
       The 2011 UBS Parade Spectacular presented by Stamford Town Center and 
                        The Advocate is officially kicking off this week with a balloon training session and press conference. Mayor Michael Pavia, representatives from Stamford Downtown Special Services District, Title Sponsor UBS and Volunteer Balloon handlers will gather under the brand new 35-foot long “The Very Hungry
Caterpillar” balloon to announce details of the parade set for
Sunday, November 20, 2011.
                        
WHEN:           Thursday, November 3, 2011
                        BALLOON TRAINING & PRESS CONFERENCE, 12:00 p.m.

WHERE:         LATHAM PARK, Bedford Street, Stamford Downtown

Sandy Goldstein of Stamford Downtown will inform the media of the various details surrounding the 2011 UBS Parade Spectacular, including event logistics and celebrity appearances.  Immediately following the press conference, the media will be presented with a photo opportunity as 100 volunteer balloon handlers learn to maneuver “The Very Hungry Caterpillar” balloon.
