Loft Artists Association: FALL OPEN STUDIOS WEEKEND--Stamford’s Largest Annual Art Experience!

FALL OPEN STUDIOS WEEKEND

Stamford's Largest Annual Art Experience!

Friday, November 6, 6 pm - 9 pm

Saturday and Sunday, November 7 & 8, 12pm – 6pm

Celebrating two years of art in their new home, the Loft Artists open their doors to the public, inviting the community to visit, mingle, and tour the studios of more than 40 working artists.

"During Open Studios we get to connect face to face with art lovers and other artists" says Loft Artist Susan McCaslin. "A lot of conversations happen – it is a chance for us to get feedback on our latest work, and many visitors appreciate getting behind the scenes to talk, look and enjoy."

Visitors to 845 Canal Street will find themselves among painters, sculptors,

printmakers, photographers, ceramic artists, jewelry makers, and mixed media artists.

The weekend kicks off with a party on Friday night. Live music, food and drinks with two floors of art make for a memorable evening. Swing by on Saturday and Sunday for a more leisurely tour of the studios. The artists look forward to talking with veteran gallery goers as much as they enjoy speaking with those who are looking for the first time. Every conversation brings it's own pleasures. "Open Studios is an event where the Loft Artists offer their work for sale, but the weekend is for us as much about showing our art and discussing it with the public as it is about selling. We love talking about what we are working on and hearing what people have to say" says LAA president Alissa Siegal.

"The LAA Open Studios was created as an open and inclusive event that benefits the community through sharing our artistic visions" adds Margaret Tsirantonakis, Loft Artist and co-chair of the event. "It encourages dialogue and fosters greater engagement with the arts."

The Loft Artists Association, the area's largest cooperative of working professional artists, is a non-profit organization dedicated to building connections within Fairfield County's visual arts community as well as working to educate and involve the general public in the arts. For over 30 years, the LAA has continually reached out to the public through its members, a diverse group dedicated to sharing their appreciation of the power of art with the community they work in.

Come see what the LAA is all about!

Thousands of visitors from the Tri-State area are drawn to this hotbed of creativity – Open Studios is the largest local event of its kind!

Fall Open Studios Weekend will take place Friday, November 6, from 6 pm – 9 pm, Saturday, November 7 and Sunday, November 8 from 12 pm to 6 pm at 845 Canal Street in Stamford, CT. Admission and parking are free. (A $5 donation is suggested.)
