Memories of Restaurant weeks....

Jackie dined at napa & co last week and here's her share:

Did you know that during Stamford Downtown's Restaurant Weeks an average of 22,000 lunches and dinners are served?

Last week, we just couldn't resist napa & co.'s tantalizing Winter Restaurant Weeks dinner menu as you can see by our well satisfied faces.  What a special time I had having dinner with local residences Margie & Sarah.
We only had accolades for the Chef and Mary Schaffer, the owner!

napa & co is popular for restaurant weeks....

One of our staff members dined out at napa & co for restaurant weeks this past week.  Here's what AE had to say....

We dined at napa & co on Monday, March 9 during Stamford Downtown Winter Restaurant Weeks.  For a Monday night, the restaurant was quite busy (all but 2 tables were taken).
napa & co
Their selection for restaurant weeks was quite good and the service was excellent. (and the wine by the glass list was extensive, which is always helpful, since my boyfriend is mainly a beer drinker.)  We decided to order different items from the menu, so each of us could sample six things.
Starting with the cauliflower soup with truffle crème fraiche and a caesar salad, continuing on with pasta bolognese with a dollop of ricotta, the pan roasted salmon with chickpeas and finishing with banana peanut butter concoction and a warm chocolate cake, we were not disappointed.   We left full and happy.
Two Thumbs up napa & co.!  #stamforddowntown

She dined at Capital Grille...

On Friday night, in honor of restaurant week sand my sister's 60th bday, we dined at Capital Grille.  Being one of my favorite restaurateur for a steak and a great glass of red wind.  I never expected that  during restaurant weeks the menu choices would be exactly what they are when  it's NOT restaurant weeks.

We had the most delicious meals that included their famous wedge salad with blue cheese, a kona crusted boned in sirloin steak accompanied by over flowing sides of mashed potatoes and green beans.  A scrumptious chocolate dessert topped it off.  We were
stuffed.
I'd suggest you try to reserve a seat through open table, or plan ahead for summer resto weeks!   You won't regret it. #stamforddowntown

He dined at napa & co.....

Last Thursday night we dined at napa & co for Restaurant Weeks and we're happy to report it was just like every other week, simply extraordinary.  It's reassuring to know that this restaurant maintains its high standards at all times.  Lunch or dinner, weekday or weekend, special menu or regular, it's apparent that management and staff work very hard to be consistent.   Our table tried began with the Caesar Salad and the Veal Meatballs then ordered Garganelli Bolognese and Pan Roasted Salmon for
entrees.  Finished off with a tasty selection of fresh sorbets and an incredible Banana Spring Roll.  You might find similar items on other menus but at napa & co each dish was remarkable.  The wine list is broad and you don't need to spend a lot for an excellent wine.  We paired dinner with two very reasonable yet outstanding wines.  We're definitely going to try to catch one more dinner there before Restaurant Weeks ends.

I dined at the Capital Grille...

So .....I dined at The Capital Grille for Winter Restaurant Weeks (WRW).  I'm usually excited about restaurant weeks and I guess this time, I was even more exited because I've felt so beaten down by the snow and bad weather these past few weeks.   I don't think I was alone.    WRW is a busy time for Stamford Downtown Restos--All of them.   But.... because I know Capital Grille is sooooo popular, I had made my reservations a couple of weeks ago.  Good thing cause they were packed solid.  Not an empty seat at  8pm!  Anyhow.....me & my dining buddies were excited to join the energy in the main dining room. It's gorgeous; huge with lots of chatter.  The menu arrived and we were offered many choices.  But I came for the WRW menu and although there were a 1/2 dozen options to choose, ironically, we all chose the same dish.  Filet mignon, please. All around.   Oh, and as usual, it was outstanding.  I don't think Capital Grille could do wrong: Filet, mashed potatoes & beans with creme brulee dessert.  Yum.  I wasn't counting calories, not that I normally count calories, but this was beyond wanting to keep track. Good stuff.   Did I mention the awesome service?  Of course.
I'm coming back again.  Looking forward to next restaurant weeks for sure.  : )  #stamforddowntown
